Teaming up with friends, backstabbing them when they least expect it or just battling legendary monsters is commonplace in Munchkin. If any of the above appeals to you, perhaps you should give Munchkin a shot! Munchkin caters to 3 to 6 players. Munchkin has a game time of approximately 60 minutes.
Munchkin is a fantasy card game in which players would have to embark on an adventure through a dungeon and face mighty monsters along their path. The goal of the player is to reach level 10 before the others do.
In a regular turn, players would have to “break down the door”, and if they encounter any monster, they have to fight it. If the monster are too strong for the player to fight it down alone, player can ask for help from other players, and thats where the player’s negotiation skill will be put to test. Defeating a monster results in the player who encountered the monster to go up level and also gain treasure(s), both of which depending on the difficulty of the monster slain. Treasures are item which can be used to strengthen player’s combat ability. Treasure cards can also contain power up cards which can be applied to monster. So if one of the player is way too ahead of the rest, well you know what to do. Just add this power ups to the monster they encounter and make it hard for them to climb up the levels.
Munchkin is a success story of Steve Jackson (Designer of Munchkin). The success can be seen in the number of other Munchkin titles they have released. Munchkin Apocalypse, Munchkin Axe Cop and Munchkin Bites!, are just some of the titles that follows after Munchkins.
If you are looking for a relaxing, fun time filled with laughter with your friends over a board game, Munchkin is definitely a choice to consider.
