Total War is actually a points-per-side thing, so I was thinking of 6000 points per side, to be allocated by the General. This is excluding Firestorm troops of course.

Your three tank platoons + HQ + Weapons Platoons (if you chose to bring them) would be your Combat Company. All other support stuff goes in a pool.

8/8 sounds good to me. That day suits me best. And also, 6k a side is fine by me too.

Yup sounds good. Next Thursday 5/8 I'll be able to stay late, but not on 12/8.

Have confirmed the date for August 8th. We will have it all day, but think we should start at noon.

Could we get the rules for total war or have they already been posted somewhere?

The allies won the initiative roll and once again decided to attack Turnhout Bridge from the XII Corp advance. Trying to prevent the Allied Breakout were the 653. Panzerjagerabteilung, fielding Elefant tank hunters. 2 Elefants, 4 Stugs and a command Tiger (P) led the assault on the allied position, composed of a 4-gun 5.5" battery, and 5 Sherman 76s.

The axis drive went down the east flank. The 5.5" guns attempted to range in before the heavy armor got in LoS, but failed all 3 rolls! The 76s entered a forest in preparation to outflank the charging Elefants and Tiger. A second turn of movement brought the axis closer, with the Stugs taking up positions in cover midfield. Reserves of Nebelwerfers, 88s and M4 105s all arrived fairly early. A single shot from an Elefant killed one 5.5" gun. The M4 105s circled around on the west, avoiding the 88 LoS. A second bombardment from the 5.5" guns bailed the German commander, but Protected Ammo meant he quickly got back in.

The heavy armor advanced at full speed towards the 5.5" guns for the third time, getting within minimum bombardment range this time. Over a couple of turns, fire from the Elefants and Tiger (P) brought the battery down to 1 gun, while the 76s emerged from the forest to pick off a Stug who didn't hide itself so well. Return fire from the 88s and Tiger (P) destroyed 4 76s, and the last fell to a lucky rocket hit from the Nebelwerfer.

The Sherman relief force arriving from the other flank followed the 105s in a circuitous route, avoiding 88 LoS again, but the Stugs advanced onto a objective while the Elefants finished off the last 5.5" gun, which actually managed to beat back the inept Elefant assault for a full turn. The allied command tanks, along with the just arriving relief forces attempted to kill the one claiming Stug through the clouds of smoke from the burning 76s, but failed to do so, and the axis claimed victory.

The 6-1 ratio resulted in the total loss of the Firestorm 5.5" battery, crushed no doubt, under the heavy treads of the Elefants. As before however, the Germans could not advance into the allied starting zone and there was no other change on the strategic map.

I can't remember, is this the 7th battle?

1st battle: Shawn v Hong, Allied Victory (Attack towards Eindhoven)
2nd battle: Ethan v Nick, Axis Victory (attack on Arnhem Bridge)
3rd battle: Gene v Nick, Axis Victory (Attack on Veghel Bridge)
4th battle: Hong v Damian, Draw (Attack on LZ-S)
5th battle: Hong v Nick, Axis Victory (Attack on Turnhout Bridge)
6th battle: Hong v Damian, Axis Victory (Attack on Turnhout Bridge)
7th battle: David v Nick, Allied Victory (Attack on Weert Road)

I'd ask that we hold off on anymore campaign games till the Total War match.

Updated Map

I don't think I've done the reinforcements list yet, so here it is:

Allies:
29th Armoured Brigade (Armour): VIII Corps / Turn 1
4th Armoured Brigade (Armour): VIII Corps / Turn 1
22nd Armoured Brigade (Armour): XII Corps / Turn 1
4th Para Brigade (Brit Para): (DZ-Y) / Turn 1
1st Polish Brigade (Polish Para): (LZ-S) / Turn 2
325th GIR (US Glider): (LZ-O) / Turn 3
327th GIR (US Glider): (LZ-W) / Turn 1
155th, 156th, 157th Brigade (Mountain troops): Reinforcements (freely place on any supply depot) / Turn 1

Airborne reinforcements use up C-47 Skytrains, and have priority over other missions, unless the LZ/DZ is not clear.

Axis:
719 Infanteriedivision (88s): Rotterdam / Turn 1
KG von Tettau (security troops): Amsterdam / Turn 1
406. ID (88s): Kleve / Turn 2
107. Panzerbrigade (Panther): Ruhr / Turn 3
KG Hummel (Tiger II): Apeldorn / Turn 3
506. S.Pz.Abtl. (Tiger II): Wesel / Turn 4

I think 6000/side is still fine for 8 players ;) We don't even play 2000 points each in 1v1s!

true. so if 6000 points per side with 4 players, its 1500 points per player. that would do unless someone wants to bring some more stuff in...

TBH, I don't think it's a good idea for Sandtrooper to take part in this. Not a good idea to overload a newcomer with too much information, as would inevitably happen in games of such sizes. Also, our needing to guide him would probably slow the game down, and in big games like these time definitely becomes an issue. I'm not objecting to his entering the campaign, but I think he should start off with normal 1v1 games first.

And last i heard, neo has to take off real early on the 8th so we shouldn't count him in. Has something changed that I don't know of?

I think we should stick to our previous plan of 6k points per team, 3 a side.

We don't usually play 3v3s in the first place :) . So an opportunity to play a somewhat larger force once in a while should be a good break from our routine.

He needs to take off at around 4-5. He'll probably be bringing a Panzerko of some sort, so he'll probably be going on a suicide run to kill stuff or something before he leaves.

I've got a semi-hard consensus on AOPs. They aren't "Air Support" unless they're in a box called "Air Support" (like in the US Glider Rifles list). Take that as you will.
