In Queens’s Necklace, two to four players compete in the role of royal jeweler to sell rare jewels to the Queen and her court. Players must decide how best to spend your hard-earned ducats: acquiring beautiful gems or buying the favors of various court followers. The jeweler who sells the most precious gems and builds the largest fortune will receive the coveted title of King’s Jeweler and a place at the court!
With a series of lucrative government contracts on the table, construction company owners must engage in a bit of Corruption to win them. Players compete for contracts with secret bribe amounts. At the end of each round, whoever offered the most bribe money for each contract gets it. Special cards can alter the contest significantly, but their use is limited, making the timing of their use critical in securing crucial projects.
In this game for 3-6 players, players embody Titans of Greek mythology, collectively constructing a new planet in an act of rebellion against their father, Uranus. They’ll begin with the most basic aspects of Nature, such as Atmosphere, and use them to create more complex substances like Rainbow, Mountain, Tree, and eventually Planet, all the while keeping communication to a minimum to avoid the ire of the Gods.
Microscope is a Game-Masterless RPG by Ben Robbins that calls itself “a fractal role-playing game of epic histories”. Want to explore an epic history of your own creation, hundreds or thousands of years long, all in an afternoon? That’s Microscope. You won’t play the game in chronological order. You can defy the limits of time and space, jumping backward or forward to explore the parts of the history that interest you. Shape a collaborative world together in this abstract atypical RPG of world building ideas.
