Hey PI-Fans,

Been a while hasn’t it? We haven’t forgotten, dear folks, that we are in fact purveyors of entertainment.

The Team has been hard at work behind the scenes working on hauling a huge heap of entertainment ashore. Whether this be restocks of modern classic titles like Wingspan (and all it’s expansions inclusive of the elusive Asian Expansion), word puzzles like Decrypto, the asymmetric war game Root (and expansions), or just a hefty chunk of STEM kids games with the Dr Eureka, Dr Microbe and Dr Beaker, titles have just trundled back onto our shelves and we’re happy to share them with you.

Of course, if you’re after something new to tickle your fancy, we’re fairly certain we can deliver.

Anyone after an elegant new strategy game cam look no further than Wyrmspan, a sequel to the smash hit Wingspan, where players seek to attract and roost a colony of the draconic variety. A player seeking something lighter can turn to Wonder Woods, an adorable deduction game of mushroom harvesting, where players must make educated guesses regarding the value of different mushroom species while seeking to dominate the mushroom patches they find. The pocket sized trick-taker Sea, Salt & Paper now also graces the shelves, while those seeking a speed reaction game can look into Sherlook and Fast Flip. Citybuilding aficionados can take a swing at Point City or Castlescape and those with a taste for codebreaking and puzzles can look into the Turing Machine

Swing by the store and to check these out, folks!

We look forward to having you.

Create an ocean from folded paper!

In Sea Salt & Paper players are trying to manage their hand and collect sets of cards. On your turn you may either draw 2 cards from the deck, keep 1, and discard the other face up, or take the topmost card of 1 discard pile. You may then play matching pairs from your hand to take special effects like stealing a card from your opponent or taking another turn.

Assemble your hand of cards, play their effects, and take the initiative to stop the round. Once a player reaches 7 points in their hand, they may announce either a Stop or a Last Chance. Will you dare to wager on maximizing  your own points at the risk of giving your opponents one extra turn?

Sea, Salt & Paper: 2-4 Players, 30 mins, Ages 8+

You are an amateur dracologist in the world of Wyrmspan, a place where dragons of all shapes, sizes, and colors roam the skies. Excavate a hidden labyrinth you recently unearthed on your land and entice these beautiful creatures to roost in the sanctuary of your caves.

During a game of Wyrmspan, you will build a sanctuary for dragons of all shapes and sizes. Your sanctuary begins with 3 excavated spaces—the leftmost space in your Crimson Cavern, your Golden Grotto, and your Amethyst Abyss. Over the course of the game, you will excavate additional spaces in your sanctuary and entice dragons to live there, chaining together powerful abilities and earning the favor of the Dragon Guild.

Wyrmspan: 1-5 Players, 90 mins, Ages 14+

Fall is here, the woods have been watered by the rain and the mushrooms have sprouted! You and your green-fingered friends are ready to go to your favorite mushroom patches to pick girolles, morels, boletes and Parasol mushrooms!

In Wonder Woods, players vie to take control of the best mushroom patches in the woods hoping to gather the best set of mushrooms. While players will not know the exact individual value of each species of mushroom each round, based on the cards in hand, they will have some idea of what it is not. Through a mix of deduction, bluffing, and worker-placement area control, players will try to collect the majority of the mushrooms in each patch, hoping for the highest score.

Wonder Woods: 2-5 Players, 25 mins, Ages 8+

Players in Fast Flip need to react quickly to the fruit flying past them.

To set up, players shuffle a deck of cards, with each card showing five types of fruit and with each type of fruit appearing 1-5 times on the card; the back of each card shows either a type of fruit or a number from 1-5.

On a turn, someone flips over a card to reveal the fruit/number on the back of the top card as well as the front of a new card. If a fruit is revealed, whoever first yells out how many of that fruit are on the revealed card claims the flipped card; if a number, players compete to yell out whichever fruit appears that number of times. Once you flip through the entire deck, whoever has collected the most cards wins.

Fast Flip: 2-8 Players, 15 mins, Ages 7+

A terrible crime has been committed. Police are on the scene, but a bumbling rookie has altered something, but what exactly was changed?

In Sherlook, you must find the differences between two crime scene photos. Using your powers of perception, find and count the number of anomalies. When you have your count, grab for the evidence marker with number matching the number of differences you see. But you better think quick, because there’s a lot of other detectives competing to make a name for themselves. If they beat you to the punch, you are going to have only a few seconds to make a guess. If you’re observant and have found all the details, you’ll score points. At the end of ten rounds, one of you will become the lead detective, and it’s back to the academy with the rest!

Sherlook: 2-6 Players, 15-30 mins, Ages 14+

The King has commissioned a magnificent Castle that will span the ages. The ones who build it will be blessed with riches, power, and Renown for all time. This is where you come in. To build a Castle require workers, and your Guild is ready to answer the call.

In CastleScape, each player represents one of four Guilds who are building a large castle, containing many Baileys, for the King. Each player begins the game with a basic deck of cards (gold, recruits, walls, and a few clumsy thieves) and a couple hidden goals. Players build Walls into Baileys, gather recruits to spread their Guild’s influence, spend gold, perform questionable deeds in the Back Alley, and complete Goals and Quests. Whenever a Bailey is completed, Renown(points) will be awarded based on how large that Bailey is, and the player with the most Influence in that Bailey will claim the Renown. However, they must balance their actions with how much Infamy and Corruption they will accrue from performing them. Whenever the King visits the Castle to inspect it, he will strip Influence from the Guilds based on their Infamy.

CastleScape: 2-4 Players, 60-00 mins, Ages 14+

– Alan Turing in The Imitation Game.

Turing Machine is a fascinating and competitive deduction game. It offers a unique experience of questioning a proto-computer that works without electricity or any sort of technology, paving the way for a new generation of deduction games.

The Goal? Find the secret code before the other players, by cleverly questioning the machine. With Turing Machine, you’ll use an analog computer with unique components made of never-before-seen perforated cards. The game offers more than seven million problems from simple to mind-staggeringly complex combinations, making the gameplay practically endless!
